San Diego is the second-largest city in California, named after its patron Saint Didacus. the coastal city is immediately adjacent to the Mexican border. besides of being the birthplace of California, it is also known for its mild climate, extensive beaches, and its natural deep-water harbor.
the Embarcadero in San Diego, is the area along the harbor on the east side of the bay. ‘Embarcadero’ is Spanish for ‘landing place’. the picture was taken from Coronado Broadway Pier which is home to the cruise ship terminals. strolling around Harbor Drive you’ll detect several vessels that belong to maritime museums (e.g, the Star of India). the Embarcadero is one of the places in San Diego where you get the feeling of being somewhere completely different. just not in one big city. e.g. on an island. and so you begin to explore this island.
