MacArthur Park is located in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. it is named after the American five-star general Douglas MacArthur who became prominent in World War II. MacArthur Park was built in the 1880s and is a designated Historic Cultural Monument. it is divided by Wilshire Boulevard. the park’s southern part mostly consists of a lake that is fed by natural springs. the northern half, in addition to soccer fields and a playground, includes the band shell Levitt Pavilion and a recreation center.

a different sort of recreation offers the American Sci-Fi mystery drama television series X-Files which aired from 1993 to 2002 with 202 episodes. in addition, there were two feature films and a six-episode tenth season in 2016. the series follows FBI special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dr. Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) who investigate unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena. whereas Mulder believes in the supernatural, sceptic Scully scientifically analyses the findings to prove them to be mainstream cases.

pretty mainstream seems to be the California gull which is a medium-sized gull with a length of max 54cm, a wingspan of up to 130cm and a body mass between 430 to 1,045g., they breed in lake-near areas in colonies, sometimes with other birds. in winter, they migrate to the Pacific coast, mostly western California.
